  • 8 slices bread white or whole wheat
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup or chocolate sauce for serving

  • Flatten the bread using a rolling pin.
  • Mix cream cheese, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over a slice of flattened bread, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Starting from one end, roll the bread slice tightly into a log shape.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and remaining sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Dip each rolled piece of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  • Cook the coated roll-ups seam-side down in the skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the roll-ups from the skillet and let them cool slightly on a paper towel.
  • Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar, and with maple syrup or chocolate sauce for dipping.
