Preparation Steps
Combine the chocolate fudge cake mix according to the instructions on the box. Stir until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
Bake the cake in a 9x13” pan at 350°F for 22-28 minutes. Use a toothpick to check for doneness.
Poke holes all over the warm cake with the end of a wooden spoon. This allows the hot fudge to soak in.
Heat the hot fudge sauce in the microwave for 30-60 seconds until thin enough to pour. Drizzle it over the top of the warm cake and let it absorb.
Prepare the pudding layer by mixing one package of instant dark chocolate pudding with 1¾ cups of cold milk. Pour it over the cooled cake and refrigerate for about 15 minutes.
Mix the second package of instant dark chocolate pudding with another 1¾ cups of cold milk. Refrigerate to set.
Crush ¾ of the bag of Oreos in a large Ziploc bag until fine pieces.
Blend the set pudding mixture with the container of Cool Whip until fluffy.
Fold in the crushed Oreos into the Cool Whip and pudding mixture, then spread it evenly over the top of the cake.
Top your pie with any remaining hot fudge and a sprinkle of whole Oreos. Serve cold.
